just found this out the hard way myself Working on a powerpoint for grad school and had written out a detailed outline/storyboard in the chat history. When I came back to make slides–no chat history!

Your comments about a teacher being a master learner resonates strongly with me. I’ve taught for thirteen years, and I have learned through the years that my students are my best teachers. When I’ve learned something new, I share it with them, and they respond as a teacher ought to: “That’s cool!” They share their stories with each other and me. But perhaps the best example I can give is when I conduct the democratic classroom. It is at that time that my students teach me about brilliance, eloquence, bravery, dignity, courage, generosity, forgiveness, and experience. At the end of the year, I find myself saying to the students, “I stand before greatness.”

That was cute. It is amazing to think how technology has changed. My gosh, look how its changed in just the last year!

We too had the Mattel hand-held basketball game in our household and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still inside the “toy closet” at my parent’s house inside a box next to Simon and my Donnie and Marie Sing-Along Radio. LOL

Here’s an idea, might seem silly, but it works well … If you have a student for whom English is not his first language, use google to translate a greeting into his language. For example, you could say: Buenos días. Hice donuts para usted pero me comió. That means “Good morning. I made donuts for you but I got hungry between classes.”
