I visit YouTube often. Sometimes for educationally related videos, and other time just for fun. In the past, when I found videos that I wanted to share with other teachers, I would copy the embed code that is usually provided to the right of the video, and paste it into my blog, wiki, or web site. Easy enough. But this process only allows me to embed one video at a time.

What if I wanted to show a collection of related videos? The answer is a Playlist!

I first had to create a YouTube account first, but that was relatively painless, especially since I already had a Google account. Once logged into YouTube, I started watching videos. When you find one that you want to keep, click on the "Playlist" link beneath the video you are watching.

If you haven't created a playlist already, from the drop down menu, choose "New Playlist" and click OK. You will be redirected to a new page where you can set or modify the properties for your new Playlist.

If you already have some playlists, another way to access these is by clicking on your user name at the top right corner of the web page, and selecting Playlists from the drop-down menu.

After you have set your properties, click the "Save Playlist Info" button. The video is automatically added to your new Playlist. Keep watching and adding more videos. The next post will explain how to share your playlist on your blog, wiki, or web site.
