Looking For You…

If I needed to contact you, would I be able to find you online?

Could your students? Other educators?

I believe, like other educational bloggers, that it is essential to be able to find  and connect with educators today on the web. If you have followed prominent edubloggers Will Richardson or Dr. Scott McLeod, you know that they have both written about the value of having an online presence. Some refer to this concept as “clickability”, others “findability.” Either way the idea is simple – people need to find you to connect with you.

So, why should educators have a web presence?

  • To post instructional content / resources for students / parents
  • To get feedback from real world people about projects / topics
  • To make connections with other educators outside their current assignment
  • To connect with other professionals in content-related areas
  • To share resources with other teachers / students / classes
  • To engage a global audience

Below is a screen shot of Google results when I entered my name in the search field. I was pleased to see that I was near the top of the list.

If I was searching, could I find you?
