Wordle – Keeping words together

A colleague of mine sent me this Wordle tip the other day.

If you want a line of text to stay together when creating a word cloud, place the ~ symbol between the words.

For example, if I were creating a Wordle based on my favorite musical groups, the text would look like this:


Dave~Matthews~Band
Matchbox~Twenty
Soundgarden
Audioslave
Foo~Fighters
The~Offspring
Green~Day


Here is the word cloud created by using the "~" to connect the titles of the groups.


This is how the same text looks without the "~"
