Yes, you can “kwout” me!
There are times when I want to share information on a web page with my colleagues. I know their time is valuable so to get them to view the part I want them to see, I often use “kwout” to highlight the section.
Tool: http://kwout.com
What Is “kwout”?
kwout allows you to quote all or part of a web page as an image. By adding a bookmarklet to your favorite browser, you can select portions of a web page to create an image map that will link viewers to the site.
Why Use “kwout“?
kwout lets users share information quickly and specifically with others. The image map created is easy to embed into a web page or to post quickly to Flickr, Tumblr, Blogger, FriendFeed, Vox and more!
Images sizes can be adjusted and annotations can be added using Any Canvas or Pixlr. There are also decoration options that allow you to adjust the background colors, borders, border shapes, and shadows.
Instructional Ideas for “kwout“…
- Teachers can find web sites, post the “kwout” to a web site or blog, and direct students to specific sections related to their instructional areas.
- Students can use “kwout” and a class blog to comment on news and events.
- Faculty can use this tool to share professional news with each other via e-mail.
