del.icio.us RSS Feeds

You are doing a lot of good work saving important web resources to your del.icio.us account for students to access and use for classroom instruction. Wouldn’t it be nice if they could check your account for new links without having to visit your web page every time?

Well, we can.

There are two ways that we can accomplish this task. One way is to create a link on a web page that students can click to subscribe to the feed.

1. Login to your del.icio.us account
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the orange RSS icon

3. Mouse over the icon and right-click
4. From the menu, choose Copy Link Location

5. Create the web link for the feed

This link can be posted on any web page – on a web page, on a blog, in Moodle, etc.

The second way that we can do this is have students simply add the RSS feed themselves using their favorite browser or RSS aggregator.

Either way you do it, setting an RSS feed from your del.icio.us account is a quick and effective way for students, or anyone else, to access your shared links.
